× Memphis police release photos of suspects in shooting death of rapper Young Dolph
(CNN) — Memphis police are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects wanted in the death of rapper Young Dolph .
The artist known as “Young Sinatra” was shot and killed early Wednesday in Memphis and police believe three people were involved.
Memphis police released photos of the suspects they are seeking, asking for help in identifying them.
“There is a multitude of agencies that have units on this case,” Memphis Police Department spokesman Louis Brownlee said. “If you have information on who these people are that were involved in this, please call the police department. We need your help.”
When police arrived at the scene of the crime, on the city’s North Memphis section, they found Young Dolph unresponsive, according to a news release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Dolph had gotten into an argument with someone before the shooting and they believe that altercation led to the shooting.
Dolph was in town to promote his album “Lifestyles of the Hip Hop Rich and Famous” and appeared at two events on Tuesday night.
Authorities say they found him on Kimball Avenue around 3:30 a.m. (4:30 a.m. ET) Wednesday.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that a witness observed the suspect(s) fleeing the scene of the incident on foot after the shooting,” the news release said.
Witnesses reported hearing the shooting, but police say they have not identified a motive.
This isn’t Young Dolph’s first brush with the law, having been sentenced to probation in July 2017 for felony cocaine possession, according to Shelby County court records.
