Anthony Melman chats with CEO and Managing Partner of Afiniti

As the last handful of people work for him at Afiniti on today’s ship:

Zia Chishti, who has just announced he is stepping down as CEO and managing partner at Afiniti, after completing all share conversions with the warrants completed. Having done all stock conversions, Chishti will now be free to continue in his private equity firm roles as well, while hoping to continue to influence strategy at Afiniti.

When he first joined the company in 2016, it was only within the last two years that he was able to fully take on his position at Afiniti as C.E.O.

When we last spoke to Chishti, we asked him what he had learned during his time with the company. “I have been mentored by Martin Blank on a daily basis and the individuals involved at every level,” Chishti said in February 2018. “I have learned to listen to people better as well as to develop senior management.”

The interview below has been condensed.

The next c.E.O. and managing partner will be Julie Davis, who is already a leading deal maker and veteran investment executive for the company.
